Abstract

Safety 2010 World Injury Conference, London, Abstract:: This article is a part of an on-going national action research survey of behavioural safety in India including 1765 executives and 893 workers in 63 organisations based on an in-depth group interviews and a structured questionnaire using open-ended questions. This paper includes a number of original case studies and field observations selected during behavioural safety training interventions in a period of 12 years between 1997 and 2009 across Indian multi-national organisations (such as petroleum, steel, cement, power, chemical etc) which shall be useful in application of the concept and process of behavioural safety for human resource/safety professionals and everyone who is concerned about correcting at-risk behaviours for reduction of accidents and promoting safe behaviours for developing injury-free culture in their organisations.
