Abstract

Recent US analyses of sudden unexpected infant deaths(1) and accidents associated with infant products(2) do not specifically implicate overly soft sleep surfaces. By contrast, four international studies(3-6) have claimed that overly soft sleep surfaces are strongly associated with fatal sleep accidents. So why the conflicting impressions? (Am J Public Health.
