Abstract

This paper deals with street accidents in New York. Last fall I took charge of the statistical work of the national highways protecting society and I have, in the interval, learned enough about street accidents to realize that the problem of their control is a very complicated one-not to be solved in any fashion, but only by the force of an aroused and intelligent public sentiment, expressing itself isn't definite and comprehensive regulations and laws, administered with common sense and impartially enforced....
