Abstract

In order to have an early detection for appropriate protection of abused children, it is required to share information between the medical institutions and the related organizations in the regional governments. To singly or jointly pursue adequate protective care for aid-requiring children, Japanese local governments have endeavored to set up regional councils of countermeasures for Children Requiring Aid (Regional Network for Protecting Children, RNPC) according to the guidance of the JMHLW (2004). Therefore, Japanese perinatal institutions are now required to provide information about the pregnant women having possibilities of child abuse to the RNPC in the local governments.
