Abstract

How to explain the male prevalence in school delinquency and violence in school? Some argues biological theories and a violent nature for males. Yet, the socialization by integrating the sex roles seems to be much more indicated to understand differences and specialization by girls and boys in school delinquency. This article reveals : how school girls take their part in school violence; how gender deal with the difference between boys and girls in school violence; how the particular gender regime in school actualize gender relations and how feminine school deviance become a behavior understood as exceptional. At last, we look at the gender work of the institution by examining the temporary exclusion.
