Abstract

Federal legislation calls for a comprehensive SRTS program. Projects related to infrastructure, such as traffic calming, require the skills of transportation specialists. Some activities not related to infrastructure, such as education, are well suited to the skills of public health specialists. SRTS programs are more likely to succeed when transportation and public health professionals work collaboratively.
