Abstract

The development of technology is not only a trend of the past century, but has continued for centuries. The speed of development of new innovations has, however, constantly accelerated, and also the time for their practical application has dramatically shortened. This has left less time for learning from practical experience, and consequently a number of dramatic health and safety hazards has been caused by the uncontrolled use of such new technologies.
