Thesaurus Term : Air Cushion Bouncing Structures

Scope note
These are temporary inflatable structures and buildings with walls and an air-cushion floor that are rented for functions, school and church festivals and village fetes and used for recreational purposes, particularly for children. These were invented in the 1960s and through the early 1970s they were not enclosed and were a significant injury hazard. The hazard was reduced when walls were added to prevent falls to the hard surface. However, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and other national safety bodies continue to issue and revise warning bulletins that outline safe use practices.
