abstract="Erskine (1974) and Clemente and Kleimen (1977) were among the first researchers who were interested in understanding the distribution and determinants of fear of crime. The Reactions to Crime project researchers (Baumer, 1978; Baumer & DuBow, 1977; Gordon & Riger, 1989; Skogan & Maxfield, 1981) investigated the impact of crime and fear on urban dwellers.
