abstract="This article describes research taking place at the Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT), a part of the National Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) and supervised by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology of the Greek Ministry of Development. HIT conducts transportation research, decision-making support, standardization work, training in transportation, and represents Greece at transportation forums.  The article delves more specifically into the work of the Center of Excellence on Driving Behaviour Issues and the research vehicle used by the Center. The Center uses a research vehicle, virtual reality system, and a driving simulator with a focus on creating intelligent driver assistance systems.  HIT also does environmental research on clean vehicles and measures gas emission, weather conditions, and noise levels.<p />",
