abstract="Starting with a real event, the Mexican earthquake of 1985, this article describes a certain number of practices of Mexican psychoanalysts and their theoretical reflections which grew out of the experience of helping a disaster-struck population during a crisis period. The result of this intervention was that it enhanced the elaboration of the emotional and traumatic conflict created by this kind of natural phenomenon.
