abstract="The Central Union for Child Welfare in Finland has carried out the hitherto most extensive survey of violence to, and sexual abuse of children. Some 7,349 pupils in the ninth grade anonymously answered a questionnaire which showed that over 70 per cent of the children had suffered mild violence from their parents during the first 13 years of life. Eight per cent experienced serious violence during the same period. Five per cent of the girls and slightly over one per cent of the boys had been sexually abused.<p /> <p>Language: sv</p>",
