abstract="A review of 43 adult cases of pesticide poisoning admitted to the Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong shows that acute exposures to pesticides are more often due to parasuicide (77%) than to accidents (23%). Most accidents are caused by contaminated green leafy vegetables. Serious intoxications or complications were seen in 11 patients (26%).
