This paper provides a history of the work of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) in promoting major advances in road safety and best practice road trauma care since 1965. The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons presents views as to the future of road safety and collaboration with governments and bodies such as the Australasian College of Road Safety.",
