abstract="Using data from five community surveys, this article describes the positive influence of a community- policing strategy on citizen perceptions of the police in Reno, Nevada. Included are the program effects on public perception of police image, police performance, officers' projection of a feeling of concern, and the city as a safe place in which to live. The influence of the program on reported crime, arrests, and calls for service also is examined.<p />",
