abstract="The study reported here measured judges' and prosecutors' perceptions regarding the use of innovative techniques in cases in which spouse abuse or child abuse was alleged. The data indicate that receptivity to the use of innovative techniques was relatively high, with perceptions of actual use somewhat lower. Judges tended to be somewhat more supportive than prosecutors of court-ordered treatment for offenders and were more likely to see themselves as using innovative techniques than to see the techniques as commonly used. Prosecutors were more likely see innovative techniques as commonly used than they were to perceive themselves as using the techniques frequently.<p />",
