abstract="In response to a solicitation, the Transportation Research Board Task Force on Women's Issues in Transportation (A3B56) received 12 research problem statements, which are presented in this Circular. The statements were rated using criteria that include the critical nature of the research, the benefits of the research, the application of the results, the impact of implementation of the results, and the risk involved in undertaking or not undertaking the research. The following five statements were rated as &quot;high priority&quot; for action: Occupant restraint design for women and the elderly; Women drivers' risk of death in a fatal crash; Impediments to trip-making by women aged 65 or older; Gender differences in driver skill development; and Examination of the career paths of women in transportation. For each of the 12 problem statements, the following information is given: Problem; Objective; Key Words; Related Work; Urgency/Priority; Cost; User Community; Implementation; Effectiveness; and a Contact Person.<p />",
