abstract="Five patients survived acute paraquat ingestion, despite developing restrictive pulmonary dysfunction. Of these, 2 patients with documented long-term follow-up had progressive functional improvement. A literature review revealed 29 other patients surviving restrictive pulmonary dysfunction following acute paraquat poisoning.
