abstract="Suicide is a major social problem. Annually as a result of suicide, almost one million people are killed and many more unsuccessful attempt to take his own life. Knowledge of risk factors is one of the first steps of prevention of this phenomenon. THE AIM OF THE STUDY: To know the personality determinants of gender found in people after a suicide attempt. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study included 37 people after a suicide attempt, psychiatric hospital and a control group (healthy people) well-matched for age and education. Questionnaire method used to study selected personality variables. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS: Psychological gender--masculinity dimension to significantly differentiate a person from the study group and controls.
