abstract="This study examined the relationship between purposeful activity and life satisfaction of elderly males from five different living settings. Their participation in the study included the completion of a modified version of the Elders Interest Activity Scale, the Life Satisfaction Index-Z and a form eliciting basic demographic information. Findings revealed that subjects in the five environments had similar levels of life satisfaction; differences, however, were found in the present level of activity participation among the sample groups. Results indicated a significant positive but weak correlation between purposeful activity and life satisfaction.<p />",
