abstract="Little is known about the perceptions held by resi- dents of long term care facilities regarding their daily experiences and the role that structured activities may play in their daily lives. In the present exploratory study, residents (N = 16) of a long term care facility were asked to participate in intensive interviews and a subsample (N = 5) was asked to participate in the experience sam- pling method (ESM). The ESM involved residents reporting their activity involvement and perceptions of pleasure and choice at sev- eral random times each day for four to SIX days.
