abstract="A written schedule of daily activities is a useful tool in conducting an adult day care program. Clients who are disoriented and confused can compensate for short term memory deficits by referring to individual schedules which list the day and date as well as the time and place of specific activities. Administrative advantages of a detailed written schedule include being able to plan ahead more accurately to meet needs for staffing and supplies and ensuring that each day is an even balance of active and passive activities. A beneficial overall effect of a written schedule is that it structures the day for clients and staff.<p />",
