abstract="This article illustrates a vehicle impact test undertaken to evaluate and compare vehicle and occupant responses in vehicle-to-vehicle crash tests against full frontal rigid barrier crash tests in support of the vehicle compatibility research plan. This test included a 2002 Tundra Pickup truck and a 2004 Accord sedan colliding in a 50% offset, O degree scenario at 58 mph closing speed. Both vehicles were instrumented with accelerometers to measure longitudinal, lateral vehicle axis accelerations. The article briefly outlines the equipment in each vehicle and the effects of the crash on the driver-seat and passenger seat crash test dummies. One table summarizes the vehicles' crush profiles. A related article repeating the study at a different offset is included in the same issue.<p />",
