abstract="Critical speed yaw (CSY) analysis is a commonly used technique requiring that the investigator determine the radius of the path of a turning vehicle. The model then equates lateral acceleration to road friction to determine speed. Since 2005, the authors of this paper have participated in a variety of CSY testing at several events at different locations. This paper summarizes the results of tests conducted on the dry erodible surface of one large gravel parking lot, tests conducted on grass and half-grass/half-pavement surfaces, and a number of tests conducted on various dry pavement surfaces. The pavement-testing included tests conducted using vehicles with stability control systems.<p />",
