abstract="A comprehensive review of various studies of fear appeals, designed to present verbal messages and pictures to warn audiences that any inconvenience or discomfort is minor compared to the disability or disfigurement resulting from a vehicle crash, shows quite conclusively that scare tactics work well when they are designed effectively.
