abstract="In order to extend the service life of roadway pavements and stretch taxpayer dollars as far as possible, cities and counties of all sizes are adopting pavement management system (PMS) tools and methods such as PMS software to assist with scheduling and tracking roadway maintenance, monitor roadway conditions, and evaluate and prioritize repair projects. This article provides an overview of PMS techniques and technologies being used in various areas in the U.S., including Cheyenne, Wyoming, San Francisco, California, and Glendora, California, among others.<p />",
