abstract="Minnesota transit agencies are preparing to test a system that intended to improve driver visibility. The test will take place on a 50-mile stretch of Highway 7, a road typical of the state's many rural, two-lane highways. Highway 7 experiences fairly heavy truck and commuter traffic, and drivers frequently have to deal with blowing and drifting snows. The system will consist of several components including a magnetic lateral warning and guidance system, a collision warning system and a vehicle guidance and driver interface. It will also consist of other visual, audible and tactile warnings such as a vibrating steering wheel.<p />",
