abstract="Technology to evaluate and detect vulnerability to earthquake damage of certain critical structures is currently being developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Waterways Experiment Station (WES) in Vicksburg, Mississippi, as part of the Corps' earthquake engineering (EQEN) research program. The procedures being tested and evaluated are currently directed at dams but can be applied to other critical structures such as airport control towers. Documentation on the design of these procedures is expected to be available to the general public sometime in the fall of 1997.<p />",
