abstract="Changes have been made to the APWA Uniform Color Code based on recommendations from One-Call Systems International's Color Code Task Force. The color purple is being used to identify reclaimed water, irrigation and slurry lines. Water facility owner/operators and One-Call operators in several states, including California, Arizona and Florida, have sought such action for several years. The specific color hues were chosen to provide maximum feasible recognition by both normal and color-deficient (specifically red-green confusion) observers. Many observers would call the purple &quot;lavender&quot;. The comparable Pantone Color Number is 253.<p />",
