abstract="Installing a weather radar system has enabled Penndot to respond quickly when winter storms arrive. The direction and speed of a storm can be determined, so that it is possible to determine when it will arrive in a given county. Therefore, it is possible to have plows operating when the first snow begins to fall. Another cost saving benefit is determining the end of a storm, thus adding the decision to keep workers on overtime or to send them home.<p />",
