abstract="This article relates how storm-related erosion along a stretch of Highway 1 in California lead to the site being considered for eligibility for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places. In order to proceed with realignment along the two-fifths of a mile Pescadero Creek Site, Caltrans had to first follow through with an archaeological investigation. The article describes the process including surveys and excavations of the site, which ultimately yielded significant data on prehistoric chronology.<p />",
