abstract="This report relates to burns of the feet suffered by a pilgrim to Mecca who walked barefoot in the hot desert sun. He subsequently presented with full-thickness burn injuries to the soles of his feet. When the patient developed acute coronary insufficiency, immediate surgery could not be performed.
