abstract="Within 2 weeks the authors saw two patients with deep burns of their feet caused by foot spas. Both devices had been used according to the manufacturers' instructions and had been approved by The Danish Electric Material Control. Examination however showed that the bottom plate of these devices reached unacceptably high temperatures that far exceeded the stipulation for approval. As a consequence of this report, the rules for approval of foot spas in Denmark have been changed, as well as a warning to persons at risk that should be included in the directions for use in the future.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>",
