abstract="<p>Active safety systems require accurate modelling of human behavior. The effect of bracing, together with an appropriate human head/neck stability control are essential in the study of pre-crash behavior and neck injury, since they can account for changes in apparent joint stiffness in the neck. In this paper a biofidelic postural control of the head and neck with co-contraction ratio is implemented. The controller is implemented in Matlab and coupled with a MADYMO human body model. A validation is performed, comparing the new controlled system with experiments with test subjects in the pitch direction.</p>",
