abstract="Several ways of collecting data, calculation and presentation of data has been developed aimed at rating the interior safety of different car models. One of the most difficult parts has been to estimate the crash severity which can vary considerably between different car models and thereby influence the relative safety. In this paper a method and some results are presented using paired comparisons which is a technique developed in order to control accident severity without collecting data about accident severity itself but instead using some simple assumptions about two-car accidents. Three different car models are compared and rated relative to each other. The influence of weight is also demonstrated by using the method.<p />",
