abstract="The results obtained from a series of tests are described, comparing the effects (deformations and dummy load values) caused by lateral collisions at right angles on a subcompact car (VW Golf/Rabbit), impacted by a car of the same type, by an intermediate car (Daimler Benz W 123) and also by barriers with a rigid front (SAE) and a deformable front (CCMC). The subcompact car of the same type was also used in dived braking position and impacts of the subcompact car against the intermediate one were also undertaken. In the case of the deformable barrier, the mass of the barrier and the collision speed were additionally varied. (Author/TRRL)<p />",
