abstract="The results of an analysis of over 5,000 accidents involving elderly (aged 55 and over) drivers were compared with the results of a comprehensive questionnaire administered face-to-face to a separate sample of over 900 elderly drivers in British Columbia. The opinions of the interviewed elderly drivers about their driving were in some cases congruent (e.g. problems with weather and turning maneuvers) and other cases incongruent (e.g. assessment of driving proficiency) with evidence from analysis of elderly-driver accidents.<p />",
