abstract="In an examination of attachment organization and dimensions of commitment, 101 females and 30 males, 76.9% Caucasian, 7% African American, 6% Hispanic, and 12% Asian American, completed an attachment questionnaire (Bartholomew d Horowitz, 1991) and the Commitment Inventory (Stanley & Markman, 1992). Persons in a relationship who endorsed a secure or preoccupied attachment prototype reported stronger personal dedication than those endorsing a fearful-avoidant or dismissing-avoidant prototype. Results differed for fearful- and dismissing-avoidant attachment.<p />",
