abstract="Researchers explored the interaction between 84 African American college women's, self-esteem and their attitudes about race and gender Using the Racial Identity Attitudes Scale (RIAS), the Womanist Identity Attitudes Scale (WIAS), the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and a personal data sheet, the researchers found positive correlations between the three scales. They found no significant differences between the WIAS subscale scores of women at a historically Black university (TBU) and those of women at a predominantly White university Self-esteem scores were significantly higher for PWU women in comparison to TBU women. Implications for development and the campus climate are discussed.<p />",
