abstract="The author's two articles published in this Journal and the author's other studies on the prevention of falling accidents are reviewed, and further developments are introduced. First of all, the following topics newly developed since the articles are reviewed. (1) Survey of casualties from falls on stairways based on the hazard information from hospitals. (2) Cross matching method to detect the risk of degenerating ability to stand upright.Ergonomie study methods are applied to analyze contributing factors to causes of falls, to evaluate human standing ability numerically, to evaluate dimensions of tread and rise in respect to human peripheral vision, and to evaluate slip resistance. A series of the author's recent articles are briefly reviewed.<p />",
