abstract="The safety-related practices of long distance drivers are examined. The results reveal that a large proportion of drivers have delivery schedules that require violations of speed limits and/or Hours of Service Regulations. Also indicated are widespread violations of speed limits and Hours of Service regulations and use of stimulants while driving. There was a general concensus among drivers that safety conditions have deteriorated since 1980.<p />",
