abstract="The pharmacokinetics of nine drugs were studied in 13 severely intoxicated patients treated with combined hemoperfusion-hemodialysis. Five drugs (phenobarbital, methylphenobarbital, amobarbital, meprobamate, thallium) showed one-compartment kinetics. For two drugs (secobarbital, methaqualone) however a two-compartment model had to be accepted. For the former group a one-compartment linear model can be used to predict the efficacy of treatment and to calculate the optimal duration of treatment.<p /><p>Language: en</p>",
