abstract="The Virginia Court of Appeals upheld a case in which a shoplifter who bit two retail employees after telling them he had AIDS was found guilty of malicious wounding. In Hall v. Commonwealth of Virginia, the court said that by declaring he had AIDS, James Hall intended to maim, disfigure, disable or kill the employees that he bit during a scuffle following his apprehension for shoplifting.
