abstract="An attempt has been made to model early, chance and wearout failures by a single failure rate equation. Failure rate has been assumed to exponentially decrease in an early failure region, remain constant in a chance failure region and exponentially increase in a wearout failure region. A six-parameter physical model and a reduced five-parameter model are suggested. Equations are given for estimation of model parameters from experimental data.<p />",
