abstract="The main intent of the present paper is to obtain explicit expressions for the s-expected number and idle/actual inspections in [0, t] and the s-expected number of type i (i=1,2) repairs in [0, t]. A cost-benefit analysis of the system is developed by making use of these system characteristics. The system is characterized by the probabilities of its being in the 'up' or 'down' state. Integral equations are formed by identifying the system at suitable regeneration epochs. Laplace transform technique is adopted to solve the integral equations.<p />",
