abstract="The use of fractional dead time (FDT) with exponential failure distribution is common in many industrial practices to develop inspection policy for equipment. In this paper, Weibull distribution has been used to formulate expressions for FDT and successive inspection times. The resulting expressions are generally applicable to both random and wearout failure cases. Tables and graphs have been provided so that successive inspection times can be easily obtained with little computation.<p />",
