abstract="This paper presents a Safety Prediction Technique (SPT) for nuclear power plants. SPT is used to develop models which calculate criticality as the product of failure/error probability for a component/action, which can be estimated from failure/error data, and the sensitivity of the component/action, which is the conditional probability that the plant will be unsafe given that a failure/error has occurred. These models are described in terms of both functional block diagrams as well as computer data format following procedures and codes developed in the paper.<p />",
