abstract="After delineating the problem created by uninsured motorists, the existing alleviative measures and their shortcomings are briefly reviewed. A plan is then presented which calls for the establishment of an Uninsured Motorist Fund (financed by uninsured motorists alone) along with mandatory uninsured motorist coverage (to be provided without charge by the insurers). The Fund is to provide coverage to all innocent victims of uninsured motorists and to reimburse the insurers for their losses incurred on uninsured motorists coverage. To make the plan more acceptable to state legislatures and the insurance industry, radical suggestions have been avoided.<p />",
