abstract="A model is presented to predict the radiative ignition time of a ventically oriented fabric in the presence of air. Both exothermic and endothermic reactions are included in the pyrolysis process. Sample calculations predicted ignition times which are comparable to measured ignition times found in the literature. Using this model a sensitivity analysis was carried out and its results suggest the ranking of the various thermophysical and kinetic parameters in order of their relative influence on the predicted ignition time. Activation energy ranked highest and overall order of reaction ranked lowest.<p />",
