abstract="The present work focuses on the numerical simulation of the propagation of a premixed flame in one-dimensional confined domain and its interaction with a water mist. Main interaction effects are drag, break-up, heating and vaporisation of the water droplets. The chemical structure of the flame is analysed as well as the water and gas behaviour. The main goal is to determine the efficiency of different water barriers to mitigate the flame under different propagation regimes: deflagration or detonation. Therefore, different extinction criterions are used. Also, the relative importance of oxygen dilution in flame quenching is established.<p />",
